Hello, World! I am a mid-level Software Developer with a Bachelor's degree concentrated in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Minnesota (Duluth campus). I currently work for the great state of North Dakota, designing, maintaining, enhancing, and troubleshooting software used by the ND Legislative Council, state Legislators, and fellow citizens. Throughout my young professional career I have had the opportunity to work on a vast spectrum of projects that introduced and refined my skills pertaining to problem-solving fundamentals and modern, best-practice methodologies in the tech industry.

I specialize in application development using Python/Django, but I have hands-on experience working with many other programming languages and frameworks as well, including C++, Java, Swift, Visual Basic, Javascript, HTML, CSS, and SQL. I have learned about the importance of each step in the development lifecycle and how Agile and Scrum strategies can offer flexibility and efficiency to these stages. I quickly realized how crucial proficient communication and teamwork actually is. Some of the principal courses I completed include Software Engineering, Software Analysis and Design, Computer Security, Database Management Systems, Computer Ethics, Discrete Math, Computer Networks, and Artificial Intelligence.

I have additional exposure to the tech industry through an internship at Sinex Solutions where I restructured style sheets for the company’s web technologies as well as tested and modified functionality as needed using software such as ASP.NET and Microsoft SQL Server. I also worked as a temporary junior developer through the physics department at my alma mater where I designed and implemented a prototype for a crowd-sourced, science application on both Android and iOS platforms that promotes research based on collected data from participants. Experience at retail and hospitality jobs has also led to my development of excellent client-facing, communication, and time management skills.

When the weather is not so nice, I like exploring virtual landscapes in my favorite RPGs or competing against other gamers in online multiplayer. I also enjoy playing guitar or drums as well as an occasional Netflix binge session.
